Clear answers before you start
Frequently asked questions about QartWise.
Understand how the current application works, what information stays in your browser, and what to verify before your next shopping trip.
Common questions
Are the grocery prices live retailer prices?
No. QartWise currently calculates illustrative price estimates. They are not live retailer quotes, verified store totals, or promises of savings. Check current prices and availability with the retailer.
Where are my shopping lists and budget saved?
They are saved locally in this browser. They are not stored in a QartWise cloud account or automatically synchronized to another device. Clearing browser data can remove them, and another person using the same browser profile may access them.
Do sharing codes sync lists between devices?
Not currently. The displayed codes do not provide a server-backed shared list or secure invitation system. Text or email sharing can communicate list information, but it does not establish live cross-device updates.
Do I have to share my location?
No. You can create lists and plan a budget without enabling location. Location features use external mapping services, including OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Overpass, and may send your coordinates or location search to those providers.
Can I order groceries or pay through QartWise?
No. Retailer links open external websites. Ordering, payments, fulfillment, and their terms are handled by the retailer.
Are price alerts and QartWise Pro available?
Features identified as coming soon, including live price-drop notifications and proposed Pro capabilities, are not currently available for purchase or use. The current application has no working paid checkout.
How should I use the estimated comparisons?
Use them as planning illustrations, not proof of the cheapest actual store. Verify store prices, package sizes, availability, promotions, and travel costs before making a purchase decision.
